His musical training began at the Universidad de Antioquia under the guidance of Hugo Espinosa. He later continued her studies in France with François Veilhan, Sophie Dardeau, Isabelle Lartillot, and Gaspar Hoyos, earning diplomas with the highest distinctions. His artistic development was further enriched through mentorship from musicians such as Juliette Hurel, Luis Julio Toro, Michel Bellavance, Clara Novakova, Carlo Jans, Claude Lefêvre, Betsy Jolas, Pierre-Yves Artaud, and Régis Campo, solidifying his distinguished career in chamber music and orchestral repertoire.
A deep passion for historically informed performance led him to explore the traverso, approaching Baroque and Classical repertoire from a stylistic perspective rooted in historical performance practice. In this field, he has worked with leading specialists and participated in projects dedicated to reviving original soundscapes. His strong commitment to the dissemination of this repertoire is evident in his work with the Academia de Música Antigua de Medellín, where he has contributed to the training of young musicians and the performance of Baroque works on period instruments.
He has been a member of the Conservatoire de Nancy Orchestra and has collaborated with the Colombian National Symphony Orchestra and the EAFIT Symphony Orchestra. In the chamber music field, he won first place in the Banco de la República competition, which led to a performance at the Luis Ángel Arango Recital Hall. Over the course of an extensive career with the Medellín Philharmonic Orchestra, he distinguished himself as a flutist and piccolo player, establishing a prominent presence in the Colombian musical scene.
