Argentinian Gustavo Gargiulo has established himself as one of the leading cornetto players on the international stage. His career began in trumpet performance before delving into early music with the cornetto, an instrument in which he has gained remarkable recognition, becoming the first Latin American to promote it globally. His education includes studies with distinguished masters such as Laszlo Borsody in Baroque trumpet, Lene Langeballe in cornetto, and specialized training under the guidance of William Dongois and Jean Tubery at the Conservatoire Supérieur de la Région de Paris, where he earned his Concertist Diploma in Early Music. His career has led him to collaborate with prestigious ensembles and conductors, including Cappella Mediterranea, Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, and Pygmalion, engaging in a variety of musical projects ranging from Renaissance to Baroque music. His discography exceeds 25 recordings with renowned labels such as Harmonia Mundi, Naïve, and Alpha.
Moreover, his passion for education has led him to offer masterclasses in institutions across Europe and Latin America, contributing to the development of historically informed performance in the region. Between 2021 and 2023, he conducted "Stylistic Resources" workshops as part of the Baroque Music specialization at the Instituto Superior de Arte of the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires.
